Seeking an EXPERIENCED and dedicated full-time veterinary technician (LVT, CVT, RVT preferred) for our ophthalmology specialty hospital. Must have more than 2 years of full-time paid veterinary anesthesia and veterinary surgery experience. Animal handling experience (dogs and cats required, exotics and horses would be a bonus) for over 2 years is also necessary.
We typically work approximately 10-12 hour days for a regular schedule of 4 weekdays per week with rotational on-call for emergencies.
Extensive veterinary anesthesia, surgery room management, client communication, exam room management, animal handling, computer experience and touch-typing skills are required. Seeking dedicated, responsible, reliable, detail-oriented, outgoing person with a strong interest in learning.
Veterinary technician roles include anesthetist, surgery assistant, exam room technician and client educator. Responsibilities include surgical pack preparation, advanced technician skills (IV catheter placement, venipuncture), patient care, diagnostic testing (blood, eye, urine), record keeping, inventory management and facility maintenance.
All group members are cross-trained to perform front desk duties including answering phones, appointment scheduling, checking out clients, payment collection, medical record management, faxing or emailing, etc.
